Hendriks custom transportation

From puzzle to overview: how Planpoint helps transport company Hendriks grow.

With a diverse fleet, varying work schedules, and employees with different availabilities, transport service Hendriks was looking for modern planning software that could offer flexibility and overview for its different regions. They found that solution in Planpoint.

Hendriks: driven by care

Hendriks is a company specializing in care transportation and a wide range of related services. “Driven by Care” is the organization’s philosophy, emphasizing its focus on caring for both customers and drivers. While care transportation forms the basis of their operations, Hendriks also offers several specialized transport services, such as transporting pilots and flight attendants at Brussels Airport, blood transport for the Red Cross and customized transport for De Lijn. The transport company relies on a strong team of 850 employees and 350 vehicles, spread across five different regions.

The diversity of services requires extremely careful staff planning. “Everything stands or falls with good planning,” says Seppe, Site Manager in Lommel at Hendriks. “For us, it’s all about teamwork and precision. However, that precision also brings complexity. We deal with unpredictable situations such as illness or force majeure, and all of this must be managed effectively.”

The challenge and choice for Planpoint

Hendriks previously used Excel to manage the scheduling of customized/flex transport. While this was initially sufficient, the system quickly became inefficient due to increasing complexity. “I created a separate Excel file for each region, which I had to update weekly. This took an enormous amount of time and left room for errors,” Seppe explains.

Hendriks started looking for a modern planning tool to make scheduling customized transport and flex rides more manageable. “We urgently needed a system that provided an overview and allowed us to make adjustments quickly and flexibly,” says Seppe. After a thorough comparison of planning systems, the organization chose Planpoint. The user-friendly interface and extensive customization and visualization options were decisive factors.

The visual display and color codes make it easier to solve complex puzzles. The system provides structure and helps respond quickly to changes.

Planpoint: what are the benefits?

Since implementing PlanPoint, Hendriks has made great strides in optimizing its scheduling. Moreover, the software supports Hendriks’ philosophy by enabling a reliable, people-oriented, and efficient planning process that contributes to high-quality service.

More overview and control

“I can now see at a glance what is happening in each region,” says Seppe. “The visual display and color codes make it easier to solve complex puzzles.” The system provides structure and helps respond quickly to changes.

Flexible adjustments

PlanPoint allows multiple users to make changes without overlapping each other. “Where I used to do everything alone in Excel, my colleagues can now easily take over tasks from me. That makes a huge difference in workload,” says Seppe.

Better resource utilization

The system helps manage split shifts, long shifts, and transitions more effectively. “Getting everyone to the right place is a challenge, especially with our complexity. But thanks to PlanPoint, we have it well under control,” Seppe explains.

Time savings

What used to take hours in Excel is now done in a fraction of the time. “The system takes a lot of the thinking off our hands. That gives us the space to focus on other important tasks,” says Seppe.

Scheduled by care

PlanPoint has helped Hendriks take its workforce scheduling to the next level. The combination of flexibility, visual insight, and efficiency makes it an indispensable tool in daily operations. “It takes some time to learn the system’s logic, but once you master it, you can do so much with it,” concludes Seppe.

With PlanPoint, Hendriks is ready for the future. A future where flexibility and oversight are more important than ever, and where the team can focus on what truly matters: providing excellent mobility services to their customers.
